BEHIND THE SPARKLE…

Molly and Gidget started in August of 2011 in South Dakota by TK Trask. Named after Trask’s family toy poodles, Molly and Gidget, the concept was to mesh two style worlds into one shopping destination - iconic and stylish meets bold and one-of-a-kind style. In the past 10 years, the concept of the brand has remained the same but the brand itself has evolved beyond just a boutique into a high-end fashion label offering one-of-a-kind and custom looks exclusively for red carpet, runway and music clients.

Today we work with some of the top stylists, models, personalities and music acts in the business, creating looks that promise clients they will never be on a “who wore it better” list. We also work with and support sustainable fashion projects as well as promoting women’s empowerment movements.

Our motto is always to “Go Your Own Direction,” meaning we promote unapologetically bold uniqueness and personal style. No one ever remembers the girl who looked like everyone else. So why fit in when you were born to stand out?

THE FACE BEHIND THE STYLE…

When you are given the nickname “Fancy” by co-workers at Country Music Television, a business in music and red carpet fashion is only a matter of time, right? Launching Molly & Gidget, LLC. in 2011, TK Trask set out to make her mark in the fashion industry all while working in marketing/public relations. In fact, while building M&G as a high-end fashion label, she worked with some of the largest brands in the world - Country Music Television, Wrangler, Pendleton Whisky, the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame - to name a few, and received her Master’s Degree in Journalism/Public Relations from South Dakota State University. Trask states: “It’s never been in the cards for me to play small and live a mediocre life. I have always enjoyed doing it all and making life sparkle as much as possible. I plan to continue toward my dreams of dressing the best in country music, showing at Nashville and New York Fashion Weeks AND being the head of Marketing at CMT. Go big or go home, right? And I’m not going home any time soon.”

Trask believes in empowering women to go after what they want in life and defying the odds. In fact, Molly & Gidget’s brand values of women’s empowerment and sustainable fashion are of utmost importance to Trask. “I want to promote personal, unique style all while making sure sustainable fashion is a priority in women’s’ lives. I want women to start investing in their wardrobe and stop purchasing cheap, trendy items that are in the dumpster a year later.”

While her heroes have always been cowboys, Trask strives to join the ranks of Bob Mackie and dress the best of the best on the red carpet and in the music industry. “Stage and red carpet designing has always been my forte and true passion,” said Trask. “The ladies that wear M&G are head-turners and sparkle brighter than anyone else in the room. And that’s Molly & Gidget in a nutshell. It’s an unapologetically bold couture brand that dresses ladies who go their own direction and know how to stand out in a crowd.”
